Prof. Dr. Shimin Wang received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry and Materials Science from Hubei University in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and Ph.D. degree (major in Microelectronics and Solid Electronics) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1999. He worked as a professor in the Institute of piezoelectric ceramic technology from Hubei University in 1988, later he worked in the Department of Materials Science and Engineeringand is now the vice-president of Hubei University. His research areas include preparation of photoelectronic functional materials and films, nanomaterials, nanocomposites; design and synthesis of organic functional molecules; application of these novel materials in new generation of electronic and photo electronic devices (DSSCs, PSCs, fuel cell); mechanism investigation of the materials properties and performance.

Prof. Dr. Binghai Dong received his B.S. and M.S. in the Materials Science & Engineering school in Wuhan University of Technology in 1995 and 2002, respectively, and Ph.D. degree (major in Materials Science) from Hubei University in 2011. After working for 8 years as an engineer in the Institute of Hubei Building Materials Design, he joined Hubei University as a lecturer in 2003. In 2016, he went to the University of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania State University as a guest researcher, working on hybrid perovskite solar cells in Prof. Guangyong Li’s Group for over one year. In 2017, he also received the position of Professor. He mainly studies on functional thin films and nanomaterials, specifically covering (i) Special Functional Films and Nanopowers (ii) Chemical Admixtures for Concrete, (iii) inorganic–organic hybrid perovskite.

赵丽 教授

Li ZHAO, Professor, Dr.

Prof. Dr. Li Zhao joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering in July 2006. She completed her Ph.D. in June 2006 at Wuhan University of Technology, working on the preparation and characterization of porous oxide spherical particles under supervision of Prof. Jiaguo Yu. In April 2016, she went to the Institute of Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh as a guest researcher, working on hybrid perovskite solar cells in Prof. Di Gao’s group until March 2017. In June 2017, she was promoted to Professor. Her research area is mainly focused on optoelectronic functional nanomaterials, specifically covering (i) inorganic–organic hybrid perovskite, (ii) dye-sensitized solar cells, (iii) inorganic non-metallic nanomaterials, (iv) VO2 thin film and nanopowers.

Prof. Dr. Congcong Wu is currently a Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, Hubei University. He received his B.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of  Science and Technology in 2007 and 2014, respectively. From 2014 to 2018, he worked as a Research Associate in the Center for Energy Harvesting Materials and Systems (CEHMS) at Virginia Tech, United States. Then he worked as an Associate Research Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, the Pennsylvania State University, United  States, from 2018 to 2019. His research interests include photovoltaic materials and device, 2D inorganic-organic hybrid materials, flexible electronics, biomimetic materials and devices etc. He has published over 36 peer-reviewed journal articles including  Science Advances, Nano Letter, Joule, Nature Communications, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, Solar RRL, Nano Energy, ACS Energy Lett, and 1 textbook “Energy Harvesting: Materials, Physics, and System Design with  Practical Examples”. His breakthrough in printable flexible photovoltaics has been featured by world-wide media including ENGINEERING.com, Science News, Electronics 360 etc. He also severed as the reviewer for Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Mater. Chem. A, ACS Appl. Mater. Inter., Solar RRL etc.

Dr. Li Wan joined the school of Materials Science and Engineering as  auniversity lecturer since July 2011. She completed her Ph.D. in June 2011  at Hubei University, working on the low-cost carbon counter electrodes for dye sensitized solar cells under supervision of Prof. Shimin Wang. In February 2016, she went to theInstitute of Materials and Chemistry at Technische Universität Wien as a guest researcher, working on hybrid perovskite solar cells in Prof. Dominik Eder’s Group until February 2017. In June 2016, she also received the position of university Associate Professor. Dr. Wan’s main research interests include high efficiency and low-cost photovoltaic devices ranging from dye-sensitized solar cells, organic solar cells to inorganic–organic hybrid perovskite based heterojunction solar cells, preparing of various  nano-carbon (carbon nanotubes, graphene), and the composites for solar cell and optoelectronic applications. Dr. Li Wan is author of >30 publications (incl. Small, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, Electrochimica Acta, Appl. Phys. Lett., Carbon, Compos. Sci. Technol., React. Funct. Polym., J. Mater. Sci.) with >1542 citations and an Google H-index of 18 to date. To date Dr. Li Wan has acquired research funding incl. Nature Science Foundation of China, Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province of China and from the Educational Commission of Hubei Province.

Erjing WANG, Associate professor, Dr.

Dr. Erjing Wang joined the school of materials science and engineering in July 2014. She acquired her doctorate degree of organic chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Academician Daoben Zhu, Professor Wenping Hu and Hongxiang Li in 2008. After three-year’s work as an advanced information analyzer in Beijing Advanced Alliance Co., Ltd, she continued her scientific research as research assistant in the group of Professor Ben Zhong Tang, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She mainly  focuses on organic optoelectronic functional materials, specifically covering (i) organic field-effect transistors, (ii) organic light-emitting diodes, (iii) dye-sensitized solar cells, (iv) aggregation-induced emission and (v) thermally activated delayed fluorescence.

李文路 副教授

Wenlu LI, Associate professor, Dr.

Dr. Wenlu LI has a strong clean and renewable energy background coupled with materials science and catalysis knowledge. She has participated in the Sino-Euro joint education program on clean energy and got her master degree from Paris Institute of Technology in 2010, and then completed her PhD degree in Materials Science under supervision by Professor LI Jian from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2015, during which she also visited Professor Johannes W. Schwank in the department of Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as a visiting scholar from 2012 to 2014. After that, she worked with Wuhan University of Technology from 2015 to 2017 and then joined the school of Materials Science and Engineering of Hubei University since 2017. Her research interest includes: reversible solid oxide fuel cells/electrolysis cells; functional ceramic thin film fabrication; green hydrogen/fuel production and catalysis. She has participated in the Major Projects in National Natural Science Foundation Project and has hosted the Young Scholar program of National Science Foundation Project and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.

Jing LI, Experimentalist

Ms. Jing Li obtained her B. Eng. in Materials Science Technology from Hubei University in 2010 and her M. Eng. in Solar Energy Materials at the  same school in 2013. From the intensive training during her Master study  under supervision of Prof. Shimin Wang, she is very experienced in the synthesis of quantum dot and photo upconversion nanomaterials with different shapes and their applications in dye sensitized and perovskite solar cells. Since July 2013, she joined Prof. Shimin Wang's group as an experimentalist at the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Hubei University.

Dr. Jin Li obtained her doctorate degree of Materials Science and Technology from Huazhong University of science and technology (HUST) in 2018, and she joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Hubei University as a postdoc since June 2018. She mainly focuses on the research and development of hydrogen energy devices, surface modification and optimization of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) electrode materials.

undefinedProf. Dr. Dominik Eder is head of the “Molecular Materials Chemistry” division at IMC at TU Wien. His division currently consists of 4 subgroups (faculty members), 4 non-scientific staff and about 20 students and postdocs. His research interests include the synthesis and characterization of nanocarbons, functional inorganic nanostructures, metal organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolites and ordered mesoporous transition metal oxides for catalysis/photocatalysis, photovoltaics and electrochemical storage applications. His group has been instrumental in the introduction and development of nanocarbon-inorganic hybrid materials as a new class of functional composites. Prof. Eder is author of >65 high-impact publications (incl. Chem. Rev., Adv. Mater., Energy Environ. Sci.) with >3200 citations and an h-index of 30 to date. Prof. Eder received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 2003 from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He then joined the University of Cambridge, UK in 2005 as an Austrian Science Fund (FWF) Erwin Schrödinger Research Fellow. In 2006, he was awarded an APART Advanced Research fellowship from the Austrian Academy of Science, which he used to start his group at Cambridge. In 2011 he accepted a position as a Junior-Professor for Physical Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany. In 2015 he became Full Professor for Materials Chemistry at TU Wien. To date Prof. Eder has acquired research funding of EUR ~1.6M incl. European funding under FP7 and from the German Research Foundation (DFG). Prof. Eder will be co-investigator for MEC-POWER at TU Wien, in particular contributing to the electrochemical testing of the novel graphene-based electrodes.

Associate Professor Dr. Wei Zhang is now work on Energy Technology at the Advanced Technology Institute, University of Surrey. Prior to this appointment, he worked with Prof. Henry J. Snaith (FRS) at the University of Oxford on Perovskite Solar Cells. His current research interest includes halide perovskites for photovoltaic and light-emission applications, and low-dimensional nanomaterials (semiconductors, plasmonic metal nanoparticles, photonic crystals, etc.) for energy conversion and storage. He has been selected by Clarivate Analytics as the Global Highly Cited Researchers 2019 (rank in the top 1% by citations for their field), with a total citation of over 9500 and Google H-index of 38 (7 articles published on Science and Nature Family Journals).  He serves as a reviewer of 25+ top-tier peer-reviewed journals and was selected as the Associate Editors of Energy and Environmental Materials (2018) and Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (2017). He is the winner of Emerging Investigator 2017 (Journal of Material Chemistry A) and Finalist of "Researcher of the Year" (University of Surrey, 2018). His team is open and cooperative, with collaborators from over 20 institutions.
